Job summary

Alignerr is seeking experienced finance professionals in South Africa to craft realistic, numerically rigorous accounting scenarios for AI training and evaluation. As a Task Author, you will design prompts on billing vs revenue reconciliation, matching payments to invoices, and margin analysis, creating objective scoring rubrics and verifiable criteria.

This fully remote, hourly contract role requires deep accounting expertise and strong analytical skills, with flexible, task-based commitments

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience as an accountant or finance analyst.
• Strong numerical reasoning for multi-step reconciliations.
• Solid knowledge of revenue recognition and IFRS.
• Ability to define verifiable correctness criteria in financial tasks.
• Experience with financial documents and accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Create realistic, numerically rigorous accounting scenarios (billing vs revenue reconciliation, payment-to-invoice matching, margin analysis).
• Write scoring rubrics with exact numerical outcomes and required reasoning steps.
• Set up task environments with data, documents and system states.
• Validate tasks by solving them and ensuring data consistency.
• Calibrate task difficulty to challenge AI models appropriately.
