Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Mechanical Stress Analysis Engineer for a fully remote contract in South Africa. The role focuses on advanced stress, fatigue, and vibration analyses using FEA to ensure structural integrity across client projects.

The candidate should have a Master’s or PhD in a relevant field and at least 5 years’ hands-on experience with ANSYS, Abaqus or NASTRAN, plus strong reporting skills and remote work readiness.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering (Structural Mechanics) or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in mechanical stress analysis and FEA.
• Expert proficiency with FEA software (ANSYS, Abaqus, NASTRAN).

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed mechanical stress, strain, and fatigue analysis using FEA software.
• Develop and validate FE models for components and structures.
• Interpret results and provide design improvement recommendations.
• Ensure designs meet safety factors and performance specs.
