About the Role

Our client, a forward-thinking educational technology company, is seeking a talented and experienced Remote Early Childhood Development Consultant and Curriculum Designer. This is a fully remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to shape early learning experiences from anywhere. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing innovative, engaging, and developmentally appropriate curricula for children aged 3-6 years. This role requires a deep understanding of early childhood pedagogy, learning theories, and digital learning platforms. You will collaborate with a team of educational experts and designers to create high-quality digital content, educational resources, and assessment tools. We are looking for a creative, self-motivated individual with a proven track record in curriculum development and a passion for leveraging technology to enhance early education. The ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a remote setting is crucial.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and revise comprehensive early childhood curricula, ensuring alignment with educational standards and best practices.
• Create engaging and interactive digital learning content, including lesson plans, activities, games, and multimedia elements.
• Research and incorporate the latest findings in child development, neuroscience, and educational psychology into curriculum design.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts, graphic designers, and software developers to produce high-quality educational materials.
• Develop assessment strategies and tools to track children's progress and learning outcomes.
• Write clear, concise, and pedagogically sound content for parents and educators.
• Stay abreast of trends and innovations in early childhood education and educational technology.
• Contribute to the strategic planning and development of new educational products and services.
• Participate in virtual team meetings and provide input on project direction.

Requirements

• Master's degree or equivalent in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in early childhood education, with at least 5 years focused on curriculum development and instructional design.
• Demonstrated expertise in designing digital learning experiences and content.
• Strong understanding of various early childhood education philosophies and frameworks (e.g., Reggio Emilia, Montessori, Play-based learning).
• Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex educational concepts clearly.
• Proficiency in using digital tools and platforms for content creation and project management.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a remote work environment.
• Experience in creating educational content for diverse learners is a plus.
• Portfolio showcasing previous curriculum development work is highly recommended.
• Must be available for remote collaboration during South African business hours, with occasional flexibility.
