About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Data Analyst to join their globally distributed team, working remotely to support their operations in the mining sector , specifically focusing on intelligence gathered around Richards Bay . This role is pivotal in transforming vast datasets into actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making, optimize resource allocation, and enhance operational efficiency. You will work independently, leveraging advanced analytical tools and techniques to uncover trends, identify risks, and uncover opportunities within complex mining data from various sources. This is a fully remote position offering the flexibility to work from anywhere.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and process large datasets from diverse sources, including operational logs, geological surveys, and market data.
• Develop and implement data models and analytical frameworks to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends.
• Create insightful visualizations and dashboards using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
• Analyze operational data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for cost optimization.
• Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for management, outlining findings and strategic recommendations.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in data analytics and the mining sector.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
• 3+ years of professional experience as a Data Analyst, with a focus on data manipulation, analysis, and reporting.
