Placements24 is seeking a vigilant Remote Cybersecurity Analyst specializing in Threat Detection to join their security operations team. You will monitor alerts, investigate threats, and implement countermeasures to protect digital assets in a fully remote role.

You will work with a globally distributed team, leveraging SIEM tools like Splunk/QRadar/ELK, conduct investigations, and develop incident response plans.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity or related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 4 years in cybersecurity focusing on threat detection and incident response.
• Proven experience with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar, ELK) and security analytics.
• Strong knowledge of networking, Windows and Linux, and common attack vectors.
• Familiarity with NIST and ISO 27001 frameworks.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills; able to work remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for suspicious activities and security incidents.
• Analyze security alerts, logs, and network traffic to identify potential threats, vulnerabilities, and breaches.
• Conduct in-depth investigations into security incidents, determining the scope, impact, and root cause.
• Develop and implement incident response plans and procedures.
• Utilize threat intelligence feeds and analytical tools to proactively identify emerging threats.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on internal and external systems.
• Recommend and implement security enhancements and control improvements.
• Prepare detailed reports on security incidents, findings, and recommendations for management.
• Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
• Collaborate with IT teams to implement security patches and configuration changes.
• Assist in the development and delivery of cybersecurity awareness training.

Requirements

• Requirements Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on threat detection and incident response.
• Proven experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, ELK Stack) and security analytics.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols, operating systems (Windows, Linux), and common attack vectors.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and best practices (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CISSP are highly desirable.
• Experience with endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions is a plus.
