Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Tax Accountant to join a remote finance team supporting nationwide operations. The role focuses on tax compliance, return preparation, and strategic tax advice to minimize liabilities in a fully remote capacity.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting or Taxation, a professional tax qualification (SAIT/CTA), and at least 5 years of corporate tax experience, with solid knowledge of SA tax legislation and strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Taxation.
• Professional tax qualification (e.g., SAIT, CTA) required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate tax accounting and compliance.
• In-depth knowledge of South African tax legislation and practices.
• Proficiency with tax preparation software and financial accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file all federal, provincial, and local tax returns accurately and on time.
• Conduct tax research and provide guidance on tax implications of business decisions.
• Manage tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
• Identify opportunities for tax planning and savings strategies to optimize tax position.
• Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and maintain accurate tax records.
