Placements24 is seeking a Corporate Compliance Officer for a fully remote role with an international ecommerce client. You will design and maintain compliance programs, conduct risk assessments, and ensure adherence to laws including POPIA, GDPR, AML, and anti-bribery.

The ideal candidate has an LLB, 5+ years in compliance, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work autonomously from a remote setup.

Requirements

• A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree or a related field (e.g., Commerce, Business Administration with a legal focus).
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate compliance, risk management, or regulatory affairs, preferably within a corporate legal department or consultancy.
• In-depth knowledge of South African corporate law and key regulatory frameworks (e.g., POPIA, Companies Act).
• Experience in developing and implementing compliance programs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex information clearly.
• Proficiency in compliance management software and tools is an advantage.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects effectively in a remote setting.
• High level of integrity and ethical standards.
