Placements24 is seeking a Communications Manager for a respected arts education nonprofit. This fully remote role offers flexibility to develop and execute a comprehensive communications plan to raise brand visibility and support fundraising.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in communications or public relations, strong writing and editing skills, and expertise across content creation, social media, CMS platforms, and media relations. Remote work experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in communications, marketing, or public relations, preferably within the non‑profit sector.
• Proven ability to develop and execute successful communications strategies.
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a strong portfolio of work.
• Proficiency in social media management tools and digital marketing best practices.
• Experience with content management systems (CMS) and website management.
• Strong understanding of media relations and outreach.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively in a remote setting.
• Creative thinking and a keen eye for design and visual aesthetics.
• A passion for arts education and community engagement.
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement integrated communications strategies across various platforms.
• Create engaging and informative content, including press releases, social media updates, website copy, newsletters, and annual reports.
• Manage the organization's social media presence, fostering community interaction and growth.
• Oversee website content and ensure it is up-to-date, relevant, and aligned with brand guidelines.
• Cultivate relationships with media outlets and journalists to secure positive press coverage.
• Support fundraising and development efforts through targeted communications campaigns.
• Monitor media coverage and analyze communication metrics to gauge effectiveness.
• Ensure consistent brand messaging and visual identity across all communications.
• Collaborate with internal teams to gather stories and highlight program successes.
• Manage external communications vendors, such as designers and PR agencies, as needed.
