Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a creative and strategic Communications Officer to lead external communications for a Port Elizabeth-based charity. This fully remote role focuses on developing strategies that boost brand visibility, engage donors and beneficiaries, and clearly articulate impact.

You will craft compelling narratives across websites, newsletters, social media and press releases, manage media inquiries, and monitor campaigns.

Qualifications

• Degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Communications Officer, preferably in non-profit.
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading with a strong portfolio.
• Proficiency with social media management tools and content creation software.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy.
• Create content for website, social media, newsletters, and press releases.
• Manage social media presence and online community engagement.
• Write stories, case studies, and reports showing impact.
• Liaise with media and respond to inquiries as spokesperson.
• Monitor trends and analyze campaign effectiveness.
