Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications and public relations, with leadership roles.
• Extensive experience in media relations, crisis communications, and strategic planning.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Ability to lead and manage teams in a remote or distributed work environment.
• Strong understanding of current media trends and digital communication strategies applicable across South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement overarching communication strategies aligned with business goals and values.
• Oversee all internal and external communications, including press releases, speeches, and corporate reports.
• Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, and key influencers nationwide.
• Lead crisis communication efforts, providing timely and accurate information during sensitive situations.
• Manage the company's public image and reputation across all platforms and through various media channels.
• Guide and mentor the communications team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture, entirely remotely.
