Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Communications and Content Specialist to join a rapidly growing non-profit focused on community empowerment. This fully remote role is available to candidates residing anywhere in South Africa, with Soweto, Gauteng as a focus area.

You will craft compelling content for websites, blogs, newsletters, and social channels, manage media relations, and support PR efforts. The ideal candidate will have strong storytelling, writing skills, and experience with digital tools,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, or a related field.
• 2-3 years of experience in communications, content creation, or social media management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong portfolio of work.
• Proficiency in social media platforms and content management systems.
• Familiarity with basic graphic design and video editing tools is a plus.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
• Passion for social impact and community development.
• Must be a resident of South Africa and eligible to work remotely.

Responsibilities

• Create engaging and informative content for the organization's website, blog, newsletters, and social media.
• Develop and implement social media strategies to increase engagement and reach.
• Write and edit press releases, media advisories, and other communications materials.
• Assist in managing media relations and responding to inquiries.
• Monitor social media trends and online conversations relevant to the organization's mission.
• Support the planning and execution of communication campaigns.
• Maintain content calendars and ensure timely delivery of communications.
• Collaborate with program teams to highlight their work and impact.
• Analyze communication metrics and report on performance.
