Qualifications

• Advanced degree in communications, political science, public policy, journalism, or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years in communications, public relations, advocacy, or similar role.
• Proven experience developing and executing comms and advocacy strategies.
• Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling with ability to tailor messages.
• Strong media relations, public affairs, and policy advocacy understanding.
• Proficiency with digital tools and social media for advocacy.

About the Role

Requirements

• Advanced degree in Communications, Political Science, Public Policy, Journalism, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in communications, public relations, advocacy, or a similar role, preferably within the non-profit sector.
• Proven experience in developing and executing successful communication and advocacy strategies.
• Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences.
• Strong understanding of media relations, public affairs, and policy advocacy processes.
• Proficiency in using digital communication tools and social media platforms for advocacy.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a remote work environment.
• Knowledge of current affairs and policy issues relevant to Gauteng and South Africa.
