About the Role

Our client, a highly respected international humanitarian aid organization, is seeking a skilled and creative Remote Communications Specialist. This fully remote position will be responsible for developing and executing impactful communication strategies that amplify our client's mission and reach diverse audiences worldwide. You will craft compelling narratives, manage digital platforms, and ensure consistent brand messaging across all channels. The ideal candidate is a masterful storyteller with a keen understanding of digital marketing and public relations, passionate about driving awareness and support for vital humanitarian causes. While based remotely, this role plays a crucial part in supporting the organization's outreach efforts, including those impacting communities like Mossel Bay, Western Cape.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies across various platforms (website, social media, email, press releases).
• Create engaging written and visual content, including articles, blog posts, social media updates, and campaign materials.
• Manage and maintain the organization's website and social media profiles, ensuring up-to-date and relevant content.
• Build and maintain relationships with media contacts and influencers.
• Monitor media coverage and online conversations related to the organization and its cause.
• Develop crisis communication plans and respond effectively to sensitive issues.
• Analyze communication performance metrics and provide regular reports on effectiveness.
• Ensure brand consistency and adherence to communication guidelines across all channels.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.

• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a strong portfolio of published work.
