Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Remote Chief Safety Officer for a global mining operation. Based remotely, you will develop and oversee health, safety, and environmental strategies across sites worldwide.

Qualifications

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and proactive Remote Chief Safety Officer with a strong background in the mining industry . Operating from a fully remote capacity, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the company's global health and safety strategy. This senior leadership role involves ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, fostering a robust safety culture across all sites, and driving initiatives to prevent accidents and protect the well‑being of all personnel. This is a critical position for an individual passionate about safety and capable of influencing change across a distributed organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures for all mining operations.
• Lead the risk assessment process and ensure effective control measures are in place.
• Monitor and audit safety performance across all sites, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs to employees at all levels.
• Investigate all incidents and accidents, determining root causes and implementing preventative measures.
• Champion a proactive safety culture and ensure continuous improvement in safety performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
