About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Remote Health and Safety Officer to champion safety initiatives across their operations, working entirely from a remote location. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations, developing and implementing robust safety policies, and fostering a strong safety culture throughout the organization. You will play a key part in risk assessment, incident investigation, and the continuous improvement of safety management systems, providing expert advice and support without the need for physical presence at operational sites. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive health and safety management systems and policies.
• Conduct remote risk assessments and hazard identification across various operational areas.
• Lead and coordinate incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver engaging health and safety training programs virtually to all levels of staff.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant national and international health and safety legislation and standards.
• Maintain accurate safety records, conduct audits, and prepare reports for senior management.

Requirements

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field.
• A minimum of 6 years of proven experience in a health and safety role, ideally within the mining or industrial sector.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent qualification is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of OHS Act, Mine Health and Safety Act, and relevant international standards (e.g., ISO 45001).
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively remotely.
• Proficiency in using digital collaboration tools and safety management software.
