About the Role

About the Role Our client, a globally recognized exploration and development company, is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Chief Exploration Geologist to lead their advanced exploration initiatives. This position is entirely remote, allowing you to contribute from anywhere within South Africa or internationally. The Chief Exploration Geologist will be responsible for developing and executing exploration strategies, identifying prospective mineral targets, and managing exploration programs from conceptualization through to resource definition. You will play a critical role in discovering new mineral deposits and driving the company's growth pipeline. This role requires exceptional geological expertise, strong leadership skills, and a proven ability to manage remote teams and projects effectively. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement innovative exploration strategies and targets for various commodities.
• Manage all aspects of exploration projects, including target generation, field work supervision, data acquisition, and analysis.
• Oversee the interpretation of geological, geochemical, and geophysical data using advanced modeling software.
• Prepare comprehensive exploration reports, resource estimates, and technical presentations for management and investors.
• Manage exploration budgets and ensure efficient allocation of resources for remote teams.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a geographically dispersed team of geologists and field technicians.
• Ensure all exploration activities adhere to best practices, ethical standards, and relevant regulations.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including joint venture partners and regulatory bodies.
• Maintain an up-to-date understanding of global exploration trends, technologies, and geological frontiers.
• Drive a culture of safety, excellence, and continuous improvement within the exploration department, regardless of location.

Requirements

• A Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geology or a related field.
• A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in mineral exploration, with a significant focus on greenfield and brownfield exploration project management.
• Proven track record of discovering mineral deposits.
• Extensive experience in geological data analysis, interpretation, and 3D geological modeling software.
• Strong understanding of various exploration techniques and their application to different commodities.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage remote teams effectively.
• Excellent strategic thinking, project management, and decision-making skills.
