Job summary

Placements24 seeks a highly motivated Remote Research Scientist in Cheminformatics to join a drug discovery team. This fully remote position focuses on computational analysis of chemical data, SAR, and lead optimization in a collaborative virtual environment.

The role requires a PhD or MSc in a chemistry-related field, 5+ years experience, and proficiency with RDKit/OpenEye and Python. Willingness to work across medicinal chemistry and biology teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master’s in Cheminformatics, Computational Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of cheminformatics experience with drug discovery applications.
• Proficiency in cheminformatics toolkits (RDKit, OpenEye) and Python.
• Experience with molecular modeling, QSAR, and machine learning for chemical data.
• Strong understanding of organic chemistry and drug discovery processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply cheminformatics methods to analyze large chemical libraries and SAR.
• Design and implement virtual screening campaigns to identify novel hit compounds.
• Build predictive models for physicochemical properties, ADMET, and biological activity.
• Collaborate with medicinal chemists and biologists to guide compound design.
• Curate and manage chemical databases with data integrity and accessibility.
• Stay current with advances in cheminformatics, computational chemistry, and ML.
