About the Role Our client, a global leader in chemical innovation, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Remote Chemical Process Development Engineer to join their advanced research and development division. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa while contributing to groundbreaking projects. The successful candidate will focus on conceptualizing, designing, and optimizing novel chemical processes from laboratory scale through to pilot plant validation. This role is critical for translating scientific discoveries into commercially viable manufacturing routes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong theoretical foundation combined with practical experience in process development and scale-up, thriving in a virtual collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop innovative chemical processes, focusing on efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Conduct feasibility studies and conceptual design of new chemical manufacturing routes.
• Perform process simulations and modeling to assess performance and identify optimization opportunities.
• Plan and execute laboratory and pilot-scale experiments to validate process designs.
• Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and generate comprehensive technical reports.
• Collaborate closely with research scientists, scale-up engineers, and manufacturing teams through virtual communication channels.
• Ensure all process designs comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for new processes.
• Contribute to the technical
