About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Remote Chemical Process Design Engineer to join their global engineering team. This role focuses on conceptualizing, developing, and optimizing chemical processes using advanced design tools and methodologies. You will collaborate with international teams to translate project requirements into robust and efficient process designs, contributing to the innovation pipeline. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional with a strong background in process simulation and design, comfortable working in a fully remote, collaborative environment and driving projects to successful completion from anywhere.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the conceptual design and detailed engineering of chemical processes, from feasibility studies to basic engineering packages.
• Utilize advanced process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS , UniSim) to model and optimize process performance.
• Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment specifications.
• Perform mass and energy balances, heat exchanger design, and preliminary equipment sizing.
• Collaborate effectively with remote project teams, including mechanical, electrical, and control engineers.
• Ensure process designs meet stringent safety, environmental, and operational efficiency standards.

Requirements

• Master's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in chemical process design and engineering, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
• Expert proficiency in process simulation and design software suites.
• Deep understanding of chemical engineering principles, unit operations, and plant safety design.
• Proven ability to work autonomously and manage complex design tasks in a remote setting .
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective virtual collaboration with diverse teams globally.
