Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Aviation Safety Officer for a fully remote role supporting operations related to Klerksdorp, North West. You will develop and implement the SMS, run audits and risk assessments, and lead incident investigations while promoting a strong safety culture.

The ideal candidate has a degree in aviation safety, 5+ years of experience, and excellent communication skills to deliver training and ensure regulatory compliance in a remote setting.

Qualifications

• Degree in Aviation Management, Safety Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in aviation safety management.
• Strong knowledge of SMS principles and best practices (e.g., ICAO Annex 19).
• Experience in conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote environment.

• Develop, implement, and maintain the organization's Safety Management System (SMS).
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across all operational areas.
• Investigate safety incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
