Placements24 seeks a Remote Automotive Software Test Engineer to join its globally distributed QA team. This fully remote role enables you to work from anywhere in South Africa, contributing to infotainment, connected car services and diagnostic tools from your home office.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of software testing experience, with hands-on expertise in automated testing frameworks and embedded/mobile applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field.
• Minimum of 4 years of software testing experience in automotive software.
• Experience designing and executing test cases for complex software systems.
• Familiarity with test automation tools (Selenium, Appium, Robot Framework).
• Experience with embedded systems and mobile applications desirable.
• Knowledge of automotive communication protocols (CAN, TCP/IP) a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and remote collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for automotive software applications.
• Execute manual and automated tests for software features, functionalities, and performance.
• Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking systems (e.g., JIRA).
• Collaborate closely with software developers to understand requirements and resolve reported issues.
• Perform regression testing to ensure bug fixes do not introduce new problems.
• Test software on various simulated and actual automotive hardware platforms.
