Placements24 is hiring an Automation Systems Technician for a fully remote role supporting multiple client sites. You will maintain, diagnose, and optimize automated industrial systems using PLCs, robotics, and control systems.

The role emphasizes remote collaboration, proactive maintenance, and continuous learning in a virtual team environment to improve efficiency and minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or vocational training in Industrial Automation or related field.
• Proven Automation Technician experience with PLC, HMI and robotics knowledge.
• Ability to read electrical schematics/diagrams.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for automated systems.
• Excellent remote communication and collaboration skills.
• Self-directed, highly organized, able to work independently.
• Familiar with industrial communication protocols.
• Experience with SCADA or motion control is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Remotely monitor, diagnose, and troubleshoot automated systems (PLC, HMI, robotics).
• Perform preventive maintenance and checks to ensure operations.
• Support remote installation and configuration of new automation equipment and software.
• Provide technical assistance to on-site personnel and contractors.
• Analyze system performance data to propose improvements for efficiency and reliability.
• Maintain documentation of configurations, maintenance logs, and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols.
• Collaborate with engineering and support teams to resolve challenges.
• Stay current with automation tech and best practices.
• Manage workload to meet SLAs in a remote setting.
