Placements24 is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to design, develop, and optimize automated systems for manufacturing facilities. This remote-first role allows you to contribute from anywhere within our operational regions while collaborating with on-site teams virtually.

You will work with PLC, HMI, SCADA, and robotics, deliver reliable control solutions, and help reduce manual intervention across production lines.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Minimum of 7 years in automation engineering with focus on industrial controls.
Proficiency programming PLC platforms (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider Electric).
Experience with HMI/SCADA software and robotics.
Strong system integration, network design, and industrial communication protocols.
Excellent remote communication and collaboration skills in a distributed team.
Ability to manage multiple projects with autonomy and meet deadlines.
Understanding of manufacturing processes and industry best practices.
Experience with virtual collaboration tools and remote diagnostic software.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement automated control systems for manufacturing processes using PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems.
Program, test, and commission automated equipment and robotic systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve automation-related issues, providing remote support to on-site maintenance teams.
Identify opportunities for process optimization through automation and implement solutions to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including control system design, programming, and operational manuals.
Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, production, maintenance) and external vendors to ensure successful project delivery.
Stay abreast of the latest advancements in automation technology and recommend innovative solutions.
Conduct feasibility studies and design reviews for new automation projects.
Ensure automation systems comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Provide training and technical support to on-site personnel on automation systems.
