Alignerr is seeking an Application Security Analyst (AI Training) to help shape how AI understands software security. The role is remote, hourly, and part-time, with 10–40 hours per week and ongoing contract potential. You will translate security expertise into high-quality training data for AI systems.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in application security, strong technical writing, and familiarity with OWASP Top 10. Independent, self-directed work in a distributed team is expected.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in application, product, or software security.
• Familiarity with the OWASP Top 10 and common production vulnerabilities.
• Ability to assess real-world exploitability, not just textbook risk.
• Strong written communication to explain complex security reasoning.
• Self-directed and comfortable working remotely in an async environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze realistic application security scenarios across code, APIs, and system behavior.
• Classify and explain vulnerabilities including authentication flaws, injection risks, and business logic issues.
• Evaluate the quality of secure coding practices and remediation strategies.
• Build and validate security-focused reasoning datasets for AI training.
• Distinguish genuine exploitability from theoretical risk with clear written analysis.
