Job summary

Alignerr is seeking an Application Security Analyst (AI Training) to help shape how AI understands software security. The role is remote, hourly, and part-time, with 10–40 hours per week and ongoing contract potential. You will translate security expertise into high-quality training data for AI systems.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in application security, strong technical writing, and familiarity with OWASP Top 10. Independent, self-directed work in a distributed team is expected.

What You'll Do

• Analyze realistic application security scenarios across code, APIs, and system behavior
• Classify and explain vulnerabilities including authentication flaws, injection risks, and business logic issues
• Evaluate the quality of secure coding practices and remediation strategies
• Build and validate security-focused reasoning datasets that teach AI to accurately assess and prioritize application risk
• Distinguish genuine exploitability from theoretical risk with clear, structured written analysis

Who You Are

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in application, product, or software security
• Solid familiarity with the OWASP Top 10 and common production vulnerabilities
• Proven ability to assess real-world exploitability — not just textbook risk
• Strong written communication skills with the ability to explain complex security reasoning clearly
• Self-directed and comfortable working independently in a remote, async environment

Nice to Have

• Experience with penetration testing, secure code review, or bug bounty programs
• Background in API security, cloud-native application security, or DevSecOps
• Familiarity with AI or data labeling workflows
