Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an innovative Data Scientist to join their fully remote R&D team focused on applying AI to drug discovery. You will develop and deploy ML models to accelerate identification and optimization of novel drug candidates, collaborating with computational chemists, biologists, and ML engineers.

The role involves processing diverse data, building predictive models, and translating research questions into data science challenges, with a focus on staying current with AI advances.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Computational Chemistry, or a related quantitative field.
• Proven experience in building and deploying machine learning models, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sector.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and libraries like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
• Experience with cheminformatics or bioinformatics data is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop, train, and validate machine learning models for drug property prediction, target identification, and lead optimization.
• Process and analyze large, diverse datasets, including chemical structures, biological assays, and clinical data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define research questions and translate them into data science problems.
• Implement and optimize data pipelines for efficient data ingestion and model training.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and their applications in drug discovery.
