Placements24 is seeking an experienced AI Software Engineer specializing in Backend Development. This fully remote role supports AI products across South Africa, focusing on scalable backend services and AI/ML model integration.

You will design APIs and microservices, collaborate with data scientists and frontend engineers, and ensure security, reliability, and performance in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of Backend Software Engineer experience with exposure to AI/ML systems.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Go.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Solid understanding of SQL/NoSQL databases and data modeling.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services for AI applications.
• Implement APIs and microservices that support AI/ML model integration and data processing.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in Python, Java, or Go.
• Collaborate with AI/ML engineers, data scientists, and frontend developers for integration.
• Deploy applications using CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure.
