Placements24 is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our client’s team in Polokwane. Hybrid work enables remote collaboration with in-office teamwork to design, build, and maintain scalable backend services for an AI platform.

The role requires Python/Go/Java/C++ proficiency, distributed systems experience, and familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes and cloud platforms. Collaboration and mentoring of junior engineers are essential in a security-conscious, high-performance environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience with backend emphasis.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, Java, or C++.
• Experience building distributed systems and microservices.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of AI/ML concepts or ML platform infrastructure is a plus.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities
