Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Remote Agricultural Systems Engineer to design, develop, and optimize automated agricultural technologies from anywhere in South Africa. The role focuses on integrating hardware, software, and data analytics to boost farm efficiency and sustainability.

You will work with agronomists and software teams to deliver robust solutions, create documentation, and support testing across remote environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical or related field.
• Proven experience designing and implementing agricultural systems or automation projects.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, control systems and software integration.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop automated agricultural systems, including irrigation, climate control, and machinery automation.
• Integrate sensors, IoT devices, and software platforms for real-time monitoring and data collection.
• Analyze system performance data to identify improvements and implement modifications.
• Collaborate with agronomists and software developers to ensure system functionality and user satisfaction.
• Develop technical documentation, including schematics, user manuals, and testing protocols.
