Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an innovative and analytical Agronomist to join its remote advisory team. You will provide expert guidance on crop production, soil management, and sustainable farming practices to clients across the Centurion area and beyond.

This role emphasizes data-driven solutions, experience with precision agriculture, and strong communication skills for remote client interaction. You will develop tailored crop management plans and help farms optimize yield, quality, and resource

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Agronomy, Soil Science, Crop Science, or closely related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in agronomic research, consulting, or farm management.
• Expert knowledge of crop physiology, soil fertility, and plant pathology.
• Proven ability to analyze complex agricultural data and provide actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, particularly for remote client interaction.
• Familiarity with precision agriculture technologies and data management tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert agronomic advice on crop selection, planting, fertilization, and pest/disease management.
• Conduct remote analysis of soil samples, farm data, and satellite imagery to diagnose issues and recommend solutions.
• Develop customized crop management plans to maximize yield, improve quality, and ensure sustainability.
• Stay abreast of the latest research, technologies, and best practices in agronomy and agricultural science.
• Advise on irrigation strategies, water management, and conservation techniques.
• Document recommendations and follow up with clients to assess the effectiveness of implemented strategies.
