Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Agronomy or related field.
• Min 5 years in agronomy with crop physiology and soil science.
• Experience in remote agricultural consulting or technical support.

Responsabilités

• Provide expert agronomic advice remotely via video conferencing, email, and phone.
• Analyze soil samples, crop health data, and environmental factors to tailor planting, fertilization, irrigation, and IPM strategies.
• Develop and implement sustainable farming techniques to optimize yield and minimize environmental impact.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert agronomic advice and technical support to farmers and agricultural businesses remotely via video conferencing, email, and phone.
• Analyze soil samples, crop health data, and environmental factors to develop tailored recommendations for planting, fertilization, irrigation, and pest control strategies.
• Develop and implement sustainable farming techniques that optimize yield while minimizing environmental impact.
• Conduct virtual field assessments and provide guidance on soil conservation, water management, and integrated pest management (IPM) programs.
• Stay abreast of the latest research, technologies, and regulatory changes impacting the agriculture sector in Polokwane, Limpopo and beyond.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including research and development, to contribute to product innovation and service improvement.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations on findings, recommendations, and project outcomes for clients and internal stakeholders.
• Educate clients on the effective use of digital agricultural tools and platforms.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree or higher in Agronomy, Soil Science, Agricultural Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in agronomy or a closely related agricultural field, with a strong understanding of crop physiology and soil science.
• Proven experience in providing agricultural consulting or technical support, preferably in a remote capacity.
• Proficiency in data analysis software and agricultural management information systems.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex technical information to a diverse audience.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a remote work environment.
• Familiarity with the agricultural challenges and opportunities specific to Limpopo province is highly desirable.
