Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Environmental Engineer - Remediation to support remediation system operations, soil and groundwater investigations, and related projects in South Africa. The candidate will oversee operations, maintenance, and monitoring, with some system design experience and strong data management skills.

The role requires multi-discipline collaboration and excellent verbal and written communication. Hybrid work model applies, with three days in-office per week, and a focus on delivering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Science or closely related field.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in environmental remediation.
• 10+ years of experience in environmental consulting.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Experience with environmental data management systems (EQuIS, Locus EIM, ESdat, EDS or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate remediation data and treatment performance.
• Develop operation and maintenance plans for remediation systems.
• Analyze data and prepare engineering reports, plans, calculations, drawings, figures and specifications.
• Model subsurface conditions and remediation performance.
• Assist with remedial technology design.
• Assist with planning field work including pre-design investigations and groundwater sampling.
• Manage budgets, schedules and project scope.
• Collaborate with engineers and scientists on remediation projects.
