Qualifications

• Qualification or certification in healthcare assistance, physiotherapy assistance, or related field.
• Experience in a healthcare or rehabilitation setting is advantageous.
• Knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology and therapeutic exercise principles.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to motivate and support clients.
• Physical ability to assist clients with movement and mobility.
• Commitment to confidentiality and professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with prescribed therapeutic exercises and mobility tasks.
• Help clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) as part of rehabilitation.
• Monitor clients during exercises and report pain or discomfort.
• Document client progress and participation in rehabilitation sessions.
• Prepare treatment areas, equipment and supplies for therapy sessions.
• Provide encouragement and emotional support throughout rehabilitation.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive Rehabilitation Assistant to support individuals recovering from injury or illness in Mossel Bay . You will work under the guidance of physiotherapists and occupational therapists to help clients regain mobility, strength, and independence. This role involves implementing therapeutic exercise programs, assisting with daily living activities, and monitoring client progress. Key Responsibilities

• Assist clients in performing prescribed therapeutic exercises and mobility tasks as directed by therapists.
• Help clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) that are part of their rehabilitation plan.
• Monitor clients during exercises, ensuring correct form and safety, and reporting any pain or discomfort.
• Document client progress, observations, and participation in rehabilitation sessions.
• Prepare treatment areas, equipment, and supplies for therapy sessions.
• Provide encouragement and emotional support to clients throughout their rehabilitation journey.

Requirements

• A relevant qualification or certification in healthcare assistance, physiotherapy assistance, or a related field.
• Previous experience in a healthcare or rehabilitation setting is advantageous.
• Good understanding of basic anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic exercise principles.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and support clients.
• Physical ability to assist clients with movement and mobility.
