Job summary

NTT DATA is seeking a regulatory affairs and data privacy professional to independently manage compliance across the business. You will oversee regulatory obligations, monitor developments, and support audits while advising on POPIA/GDPR compliance and data processing agreements.

The role involves coordinating privacy governance, conducting data mapping, DPIAs, and managing data breaches. You will liaise with regulators and internal stakeholders in a hybrid Johannesburg-based position.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years relevant experience in compliance, legal, or regulatory roles within IT/telecoms.
• Knowledge of data privacy laws such as POPIA and the GDPR.
• Experience with audits, regulatory reporting, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert regulatory advice on telecom and data privacy matters.
• Manage regulatory affairs activities, filings, licences, and certifications.
• Draft regulatory submissions and internal regulatory opinions.
• Coordinate data privacy assessments, data mapping, DPIAs, and data breach responses.
• Serve as point of contact for data privacy queries and audits.
• Advise on IP/trademark protection and related enforcement actions.
