Job description

A vacancy has arisen for a Registered Nurse at Life Nkanyisa Algoa Psych, Mission Road, Bethelsdorp, PE. Reporting to the Unit Manager. The successful candidate will contribute to the effective functioning of the unit and be part of a dynamic professional team striving for the highest standards of healthcare.

Critical Outputs
Patient Care:
  • Determine and administer medication, manage patient complaints following LHC process, analyze vital data related to patients' physical condition, and communicate with colleagues and subordinates.
  • Observe reactions to medication, special diets, and treatment plans.
  • Implement health, safety, and infection control standards.
  • Contribute to accurate record keeping by documenting and reporting changes in patients’ physical conditions and referring to medical practitioners.
Health Education:
  • Participate in health education and learning programmes for patients, families, and staff.
In-service Training:
  • Attend in-service training, teach subordinates, and engage in CPD activities.
Material and Human Resources:
  • Manage ward stock, maintain accurate inventory, and determine material needs.
  • Supervise staff, delegate responsibilities, maintain discipline, orient new employees, and manage staff allocation.
Administration:
  • Maintain accurate patient documentation, adhere to the nursing process, and keep records of referrals and incidents.
Requirements
  • Grade 12/Matric
  • Current registration with SANC as a Registered Nurse
