Job summary

Bayer South Africa is seeking a Smart Agriculture Solutions Manager to lead the development and scaling of digital platforms in the Eastern Cape. You will work with research, sales, marketing, and IT to tailor solutions for local soils, climates, and crops, driving adoption and revenue growth.

Applicants should have 5–7 years in agribusiness or tech solutions, a relevant bachelor's degree, and fluency in English; additional languages are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience in precision agriculture technologies and data-driven decisions.
• 5-7 years in agribusiness or technology solutions.
• English fluency; local languages a plus (e.g., Xhosa).

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute regional go-to-market strategy for smart agriculture platforms.
• Collaborate with agronomists, data scientists, and software engineers to tailor tools.
• Lead pilot projects, collect performance data, and refine solutions.
• Build relationships with farmer cooperatives, government agencies, NGOs, and research institutions.
• Drive sales pipelines, negotiate contracts, and achieve revenue targets.
• Provide training and support to field staff and end-users.
• Monitor market trends and regulatory changes to inform product enhancements.
• Prepare regular reports highlighting KPIs and ROI.
