Job summary

JDJ Diagnostics is seeking a Regional Laboratory Operations Manager for the KwaZulu-Natal region to oversee laboratory performance, ensure TAT adherence and maintain high-quality patient results.

The role requires HPCSA qualification and a minimum of 10 years in a pathology laboratory, with at least 5 years in management. You will lead a team, manage stock, capacity, and compliance with SANAS/ISO 15189 standards, while driving safety and cost controls.

Qualifications

• HPCSA qualification in a relevant field.
• 10 years experience in a pathology laboratory.
• 5 years experience in management.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Qualifications in Quality/Business Management advantageous

Responsibilities

• Meet Test Turn Around Times within targeted timeframes and standards.
• Ensure accurate processing of patient samples and liaise with pathologists on technical matters.
• Actively manage stock levels and provide forecasts with last 30 days data.
• Coordinate capacity planning, scheduling and resource allocation to meet service delivery.
• Design and implement staff training and competency programs.
• Address internal and external queries and complaints and implement corrective actions.
• Manage assets and equipment, including monthly reporting on status and costs.
• Monitor operating costs to maintain quality standards while controlling expenses.
• Ensure compliance with Good Laboratory Practices and SANAS/ISO 15189 standards.
• Uphold health, safety and environmental regulations for staff and operations
