Job summary

Tumaini Consulting is recruiting for a client in Gauteng to hire an Instrumentation Technician for FMCG production environments. The role emphasizes reliability and performance of automated systems, calibration, fault-finding and process control.

You will work with PLCs/SCADA, read instrumentation drawings, and support commissioning, installations and upgrades while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

Qualifications

• Matric
• Instrumentation Trade Test
• 3–5 years of FMCG instrumentation experience
• Strong knowledge of industrial instrumentation and control systems
• Experience with PLCs, SCADA or related automation systems
• Practical fault-finding and calibration experience
• Ability to interpret instrumentation and electrical drawings
• Understanding of process control principles
• Technical abilities

Responsibilities

• Perform planned and preventative instrumentation maintenance
• Attend to breakdowns and identify instrumentation-related faults
• Calibrate and maintain process measuring and control equipment
• Troubleshoot sensors, transmitters, control valves and associated devices
• Assist with PLC and automation fault finding
• Inspect instrumentation systems and identify potential failures
• Support commissioning and installation of new instrumentation
• Assist with process control improvements and equipment upgrades
• Maintain calibration schedules and technical records
• Liaise with production and maintenance teams to minimise downtime
• Investigate recurring faults and assist with corrective actions
• Comply with safety, quality and housekeeping requirements

Our client is seeking a skilled Instrumentation Technician to support the reliability and performance of automated production systems in the FMCG sector in Gauteng. This role is for a trade tested Instrumentation Technician with strong instrumentation knowledge and practical experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Duties:
