• Familiarity with Pietermaritzburg area and transport networks.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Safely load and unload freight onto and from transport vehicles.
• Operate vehicles for collection and delivery within the region.
• Ensure freight is secured and protected to prevent damage or loss.
• Plan efficient routes for deliveries and pickups with dispatch.
• Conduct regular vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs.
• Maintain records of freight handled, delivery times and mileage.
• Adhere to safety regulations, traffic laws and company policies.
• Communicate effectively with clients, warehouse staff and management.
• Perform logistics-related administrative tasks, possibly remotely.
• Represent the company professionally in all interactions.
