Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Regional Distribution Manager to lead and optimize distribution operations in the Tembisa, Gauteng region. This on-site role requires strong leadership, warehouse management, inventory control, and transportation logistics expertise to ensure efficient goods flow to retail outlets and drive profitability.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of experience in warehouse and distribution management.
• Experience leading teams of 50+ employees.
• Proficient in WMS and TMS systems.
• Strong understanding of retail supply chain operations.
• Lean or Six Sigma training/experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Oversee regional distribution center operations (receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch).
• Improve inventory accuracy, reduce stockouts, and minimize waste across the region.
• Manage and mentor warehouse staff, supervisors, and drivers.
• Route and schedule delivery fleets to optimize costs.
• Monitor KPIs such as on-time delivery, order accuracy, and cost per unit shipped.
• Enforce health and safety protocols within facilities.
• Collaborate with supply chain, merchandising, and store ops teams to forecast demand.
• Manage budgets and identify opportunities for cost savings.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives leveraging tech and best practices.
