The successful candidate will play a key role in compliance and operational finance activities, collaborating closely with country teams for consistent processes contributing to growth and sustainability.

• Strong understanding of accounts payable, receivable, inventory, and fixed assets.
• Experience in audit support, specifically external audits.

• Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.

Overview

Are you an experienced accountant ready to take on a regional role across Africa? A dynamic and growing organisation is seeking a Regional Accountant to support financial operations across multiple countries. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.

Reporting to the Regional Finance Manager, the Regional Accountant will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong financial controls, and supporting operational finance activities across Botswana, Mozambique, and Guinea. You will collaborate closely with country teams to ensure consistency, compliance, and efficiency in financial processes contributing directly to the organisation's sustainability and growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full monthly accounting close across multiple entities in line with group deadlines
• Prepare and post journal entries (accruals, provisions, allocations, recharges)
• Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations, resolving discrepancies timeously
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of the general ledger
• Maintain and improve financial controls and processes
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable, including aging and collections support
• Prepare cash flow forecasts and support cash management
• Assist with inventory accounting, stock counts, and variance investigations
• Support statutory compliance and reconciliations
• Assist with external and internal audits, including preparation of audit schedules
• Collaborate with regional and country teams to ensure consistent accounting practices
• Contribute to system improvements and process standardisation initiatives

Job Experience and Skills Required

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3 - 5 years' relevant experience, ideally in a multi-country or regional environment
• Exposure to accounts payable, receivable, inventory, and fixed assets
• Audit support experience (external audits preferred)
