Howden Africa Compressors & Turbines Division in Sasolburg is seeking a Service Technician to provide field-service support on compressors, turbines and blowers, diagnosing machinery and process issues on rotating equipment.

The role requires a trade test in Fitting or a National Higher Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, refrigeration experience with an Ammonia CAT B certificate, at least six years in rotating equipment, and strong problem-solving and reading of technical manuals and drawings.

Formación

• Six years of related experience in rotating equipment.
• Refrigeration experience with Ammonia CAT B certificate.
• Trade test in Fitting or National Higher Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals and drawings.

Responsabilidades

• Perform service/repair on rotational equipment and multi-brand compressors.
• Interpret PID, drawings and manuals related to compressors, turbines and blowers.
• Navigate multi-brand compressor controllers to obtain data for troubleshooting.
• Install new equipment at construction sites and retrofits.
• Conduct statutory and insurance examinations on rotating equipment.
• Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine solutions.
• Produce timely and detailed service reports.
• Manage customer requirements and make recommendations.
• Manage service contracts on customer sites.
• Laser alignment of equipment and commissioning.
• Support workshop associates when required.
