Job summary

Discovery Insure is seeking a Third-Party Recoveries Team Leader to oversee daily recovery operations and ensure alignment with business objectives. The role focuses on delivering value to internal and external customers while upholding the company’s values.

You will lead a team, set performance targets, coach members, and drive recovery outcomes within turnaround times. A strong background in short-term insurance is essential.

Qualifications

• Matric (Essential) is required.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in recoveries/liabilities/claims within a short-term insurance environment (Essential).
• Minimum 2 years’ Team Leader experience in the Short Term Insurance sector (Essential).
• Relevant Degree (Advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Oversee all management responsibilities within the scope of the role.
• Set clear performance goals and targets for each advisor.
• Prioritise tasks for self and others in line with objective and business requirements.
• Provide regular reporting to management, including updates on the operations dashboard and team performance metrics.
• Handle escalated queries from various internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure all recovery escalations are managed and completed in the turnaround times.
• Conduct regular quality audits to ensure team adherence to standards.
• Coaching of team to enhance team performance.
• Conduct monthly one-on-one meetings and performance reviews.
• Drive the achievement of departmental goals and targets through effective leadership.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with other insurance companies to support recovery efforts.
