Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Purchasing Officer in George, Western Cape to manage raw material procurement. The role focuses on optimizing supplier relationships, negotiating terms, and maintaining ideal inventory levels to support production.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years in purchasing, strong Excel/ERP skills, and a proven track record in cost efficiencies within a manufacturing environment. Hybrid work is offered to balance operations and flexibility.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum 3-5 years in purchasing or procurement, raw materials focus.
• Proven ability to source and negotiate with suppliers.
• Strong understanding of inventory management principles.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Experience with MS Office and ERP is highly desirable.

Aufgaben

• Procure raw materials and components according to production schedules and quality specs.
• Source new suppliers and evaluate existing ones based on price, quality, delivery and reliability.
• Negotiate terms to achieve best value with suppliers.
• Manage inventory levels to maintain stock and minimize holding costs.
• Process POs, track deliveries and resolve discrepancies with suppliers.
• Collaborate with production and QA to ensure materials meet standards.
