Job summary

Alstom in Midrand invites applications for the Services RAMS Lead Engineer. You will conduct RAMS analyses, prepare reports for stakeholders, and ensure reliability targets across railway subsystems. The role reports to the Services Engineering Manager within the Services department.

Requires a degree in Electrical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering and registration with ECSA, plus hands-on RAMS experience and strong cross-functional collaboration capabilities.

Qualifications

• RAMS analyses aligned with QCD work packages.
• Collaboration with Quality, Train Systems and Maintenance Engineering.
• Prepare RAMS plans, documents and methodologies for sourcing.

Responsibilities

• Perform RAMS analyses to meet customer RAMS requirements.
• Coordinate reliability design reviews to verify reliability targets.
• Review supplier documentation to inform go/no-go decisions.
• Analyze monthly train failure data per supplier and report reliability metrics.
• Prepare and distribute RAMS reports to Quality, Sourcing and Engineering teams.
• Produce customer reports detailing train performance and issues.
• Address RAMS-related safety and non-compliance concerns.
• Lead reliability discussions with suppliers and internal SMEs.
