Job summary

Placements24 in Paarl is seeking a bright and motivated Graduate Chemical Engineer to support its R&D team through a structured internship. You will assist with laboratory experiments, data analysis, and scale-up studies, developing skills in process development and documentation.

You will work with experienced researchers, gain hands-on experience in a dynamic chemical environment, and contribute to innovative projects.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Strong understanding of chemical engineering fundamentals, including thermodynamics and reaction kinetics.
• Experience with laboratory equipment and techniques is advantageous.
• Proficiency in data analysis and statistical software (e.g., Excel, Minitab).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A proactive attitude, strong attention to detail, and a passion for scientific inquiry.

Responsibilities

• Support R&D projects by conducting laboratory experiments and pilot studies under supervision.
• Collect, organize, and analyze experimental data using statistical methods and software tools.
• Assist in the design and modification of experimental setups and pilot plants.
• Prepare technical reports, summaries, and presentations of experimental findings.
• Help in the scale-up assessment of new chemical processes from lab to pilot or commercial scale.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with safety and operational protocols.
