Qualifications

• National Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics required.
• 3–5 years relevant experience in the vehicle build process.
• Solid knowledge of audit processes and interpretation for quality improvement.
• Basic CAD/technical drawing familiarity to interpret specs.

Responsabilités

• Advise production, pilot hall and QA on product and process improvements; monitor progress and results for stability and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate cross-functional action plans for product and process improvements using data analysis and SET meetings.
• Achieve problem resolution targets through analysis and corrective actions for deviations in noise, function, water leaks and electrical issues.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for QA-assigned problems.
• Drive problem resolution by creating sheets and coordinating cross-functional teams for faster build quality improvements.
• Assist with providing technical expertise for training production personnel and optimizing build processes.
• Liaise with overseas counterparts on build/quality issues to stay updated on product changes and ensure vehicles meet latest standards.
• Engage suppliers on part quality issues and advise on corrective actions to meet design specs.

Quality Engineer Position

We invite candidates to apply for the Quality Engineer position in the Automotive Industry based in Kariega.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Quality Engineer will ensure that problem analysis is done according to the required Group guidelines and meets the customer’s expectations in terms of the sustainability of the solution.

• Advise Production, Pilot Hall and QA on product, process improvements by monitoring and reviewing action progress and results, to ensure process stability and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate the implementation of cross functional action plans for product, process improvements by analyzing and evaluating data and communication through SET meetings.
• Achieve Group problem resolution targets through constant analysis and corrective action for noise, function, water leak and electrical related deviations.
• Perform root cause analysis, implement corrective actions for problems assigned to QA by conducting detailed analysis.
• Drive problem resolution process by creating problem sheets and coordinating cross functional teams to ensure speedy and effective problem resolution for improved build quality and customer satisfaction.
• Assist with providing technical expertise for training of production personnel and optimizing of production build process.
• Liaise with overseas counterparts regarding build/ quality issues through telecommunications to exchange information and stay abreast of latest product changes to ensure vehicles are built to the latest levels.
• Liaise with suppliers regarding part quality problems by completing fitment exercises, evaluating the condition and advising on corrective action measures to ensure parts are to design specification.
• Prepare and present reports to Senior Management at presentation meetings to inform them regarding analyses progress and struggle points which may require intervention or decisions.
• Develop new project timing plans for internal Q release activities in line with the overall project plan.

Qualification Requirements

• National Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical or Mechatronics.

Experience Needed

• 3-5 years relevant experience in the vehicle build process.

Essentials

• Sound knowledge of audit processes (Final Vehicle Audit, Process Audits) and interpretation and application of results for product and process quality improvement.
• Proficient in MS Office Excel, PowerPoint, and Word with a basic understanding of CAD viewer.
• Knowledge of the measuring process, the interpretation of the data/results, and its interface with the overall production process.
• Ability to work independently.
• Creating and using relevant statistical data during the problem resolution process as well as the series monitoring process.
• Be assertive and have the ability to coordinate and work within a team structure.
• Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions.
• Sound and innovative problem analyses skills.
