Job summary

RPO Recruitment is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer for a 12-month fixed-term Solar PV project in the Vaal Triangle, Gauteng. The role focuses on on-site electrical construction, cabling, terminations, and testing together with ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Applicants should hold a National Diploma or BTech in Electrical Engineering, 2–4 years experience in industrial electrical works, and be able to verify ITP for MV/LV systems. A valid driver's license is essential.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or higher in Electrical Engineering.
• 2–4 years in electrical construction or installation.
• Exposure to cabling, terminations, panels, or basic testing (IR, continuity).
• Experience in industrial or commercial electrical works.
• Able to verify ITP for MV/LV AC systems, DC systems, earthing and lightning protection, protection and control, collector network, and auxiliary supplies.
• Conduct routine field surveillance and inspections of cable installation, terminations, glanding, labelling, tray/trench works, OHL, panel installation, and equipment alignment.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform field surveillance and inspections of cable installation and terminations.
• Verify ITP implementation for MV/LV AC and DC systems.
• Check earthing, lightning protection, protection and control, and collector network.
• Inspect panel installation, trays, and equipment alignment on site.
• Ensure proper labelling, glanding, and compliance with safety standards.

Minimum Requirements
