Job summary

SD Guthrie International seeks a Quality Control & Laboratory Management professional to oversee raw and finished product quality, coordinate QA activities, and ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, FSSC 22000 and ISO 9001.

The role includes leading audits, supplier assessments, internal reviews, training, data reporting, and managing recall and corrective action processes within a food manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Oversee quality management across raw materials, in-process and finished products.
• Coordinate QA activities and ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, and food safety policies.
• Lead internal and supplier audits and ensure timely corrective actions.
• Manage recalls, non-conformances, and product release programs.
• Coordinate training on Integrated Management systems and QA procedures.

Responsibilities

Job description

Integrated Management:

• Management of Raw material quality control
• Management of Finished product Quality control
• Coordinate and conduct final product positive release
• Co-ordinate management of supplier quality assurance system
• Address Quality requirements and hazards in a technical context
• Monitor compliance of Quality agreements with stakeholders
• Monitor Quality requirements and standards
• Monitor compliance of Quality and Food Safety policies to business strategic plans and objectives
• Coordinate the Emergency Action Plan and Food defense Plan with regards to Quality & Food Safety
• Ensure compliance to all Quality and Food Safety related legislation

Quality Control / Laboratory Management:

• Coordinate Quality Control systems process and other aspects of the Laboratory contract and processes
• Monitor and review analytical results and ensure that non-conformances are actioned
• Coordinate and maintain the Company’s quality inspection and product release programs

FSSC 22 000 & ISO 9001

• Coordinate the FSSC 22 000 and ISO 9001 program management to ensure compliance to local and international Standards
• Coordinate and ensure compliance to:
  • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) / Prerequisite Programmes (PRP)
  • Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) principles
  • Food Fraud programmes
  • Food Defense programmes
  • Risk Management programme
• Coordinate the Product Recall process
• Coordinate the Quality Corrective Action and Customer Complaints processes

Audits:

• Maintain an auditing program and coordinate compliance audits of third-party suppliers, manufacturers and distributors
• Coordinate the FSSC 22000, ISO 9001, RSPO and SMETA and Customer External Audits
• Coordinate and conduct Supplier Audits
• Coordinate and conduct Internal Audits:
  • GMP
  • CCP
  • Key Business Process
  • Laboratory
  • Third Parties
• Coordinate, conduct, report and follow up on Internal Audits:
• Close out Integrated Management system findings and ensure close-out of all other Audit findings

Training:

• Determine Integrated Management system training requirements
• Facilitate the Quality & Food safety training programmes

Quality Reporting:

• Compile Quality Statistics and Reports

Qualification:

National Diploma in Food Technology/ Analytical Chemistry

Experience:

3 - 5 years’ relevant experience in a related role within the food manufacturing environment
