Job summary

TransPerfect is seeking a Translation Proofreading Specialist / Quality Control Coordinator in Cape Town. You will review final-stage translations for release, ensuring adherence to client specs and internal quality standards.

Strong communication with Production teams and mastery of MS Office and PDF formats are essential. Ideal candidates have a keen eye for detail, the ability to work under tight deadlines, and a background in copy-editing within a translation environment.

Qualifications

• Understanding quality standards and client expectations.
• Familiar with project life-cycle and feedback loops.
• Strong eye for detail; manage time effectively and communicate clearly.
• Proficient in MS Office and PDF formats; familiarity with glossaries/memory tools.
• Experience with proofreading, punctuation, grammar, and instruction adherence.

Responsibilities

• Review final stage of translation projects for release readiness.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Production teams on client specs.
• Proofread names, numbers, missing text, punctuation, and grammar.
• Utilize client style guides, glossaries, and reference materials.
• Provide feedback and document issues via Corrective Action Forms.
• Deliver projects on client platforms following guidelines.
